Fire Burning - Sean Kingston

Friday 2nd

Today we went to watch a play that was somewhat an Opera. It was a obra colombiana and it was WAAAAY tor creepy. My comment about this play is: TIM BURTUN's PLAY and there was something there, something that really was praying to be seen however, it was boring. So let's analyze this play:
1) Face expression: there were TWO actresses that were amazing at this. First it was the fatty one, she made faces that you couldn't recist to laugh. However, whenever she did it when she was not important it distracted me from the main action. The other was POLI, her face was amazing, her eyes were open and she even viroleaba un pooco and her mouth was closed like a tiny bird's beak.
2) Posture: again, the postures were tim burton some how. the two that i liked the most were: 1) the dad's posture, that whenever he listened to the other he turned his face like upside down and he bent hiw back backwards. the other was Poli's: her posture was SOOOO difficult that i was impressed she could keep it forr a loong time. Her walking was amazing too.
3) Scenery: The part that i liked the most was the wedding part, that was amazin, like the scnery + the costumes fit perfectly and it was like gorgeous to watch, and it reminded me to the "ultima cena" and the levels were good also. NOW, the house scenry well it was ...ok, i like the idea of a tall deks where the dad could write, however whenerver he came off it it will move like a freak and that distracted me all the time. I think that for a scenery to work it must not distract the audience from the action but it must be noticed too.
4)Costumes & Make up: i think that this why the play looked so gloomy and tim burtonish, however i liked it a lot. It helpped to distinguish from characters and even when the actor changed character, you knew it was the same actor but you also knew that is was another character isntead of a GREAT CONFUSION. the make up was great also, i mean great if it's idea was an ODD one, i liked it.
5)MUSIC: music was used as the transition form one scene to the other, but it was not a short one, it was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong musical part sung by the actors and so at first it was cool, but thenn it started to become a heavy play to follow, and i think this shows that if you put too much music (or dance) you will bore the audience. However, i liked the music (well the first songs) they were great, and the voices were also funny.
6) I HAVE TO SAY MY "WTF" OF THE DAY BECAUSE THEY USED A VIDEO!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! I HATED IT!! why tell me! why use it?!?...i think it was a low blow for the play...it was...URG! and the worst part is when they saaid about going to bed and SHOWED A PICTURE OF A BED...that was pathetic really.

I think that is all i have to say about this play,..and so this was a freaky play to watch and too long. So, let's see...the thing that i could rescue is make up and POLI. however, i'm thinking why did all the other people at the play stood up to clap, and as i went out the theatre i heard them say WHAT A GOOD PLAY. ...maybe is because..i really don't know. So how to rank a play? good? bad? and on what it depends?...is it a good play when 50% or more of the audience likes the play?

Fly Fly Fly TO THE SKY!! -peter pan's song.

Thursday 1st

Peter pan kinder's play.

This is just a plus for the blog. As prefects we had to help tonight in the Kinder's Play. This year it was Peter Pan. And as i watched it I kept thinking about the play for next year, and this lead to several ideas.
1) There is a difference between a CHILDREN's PLAY and a PLAY FOR CHILDREN. there are many aspects about this:
  • Mistakes: since the Peter Pan was a children's play and the actors were childs then it was reasonable for them to make mistakes, however, US doing a play for children it is not acceptable to make anymistakes, because they are not stupid, the audice (grown ups and kids) will notice if we make mistakes.
  • Relationship with audience: how far can we go there? i mean, if there is a relationship with the children then how much of a Theatrical play will it be? will they still consider it a play? or a show (like the ones at Bembos) and if so...if that is a play to? AND also, if we treat the audience as stupid like "LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN!+ point at the mountain +"do you see it?" sort of a Dora la exploradora thing, will they like it? personally, i wouldn't, i'm not stupid see? soo why treat me like one.
  • Music & Dance: I still think it MUST be there, however later on i will talk about a play that we are going to see tomorrow so, let's see how does music affects the play. We need to learn to put the right amount of music to not bore the audience with too little but also with too much. I think that Disney movies will teach us HOW and WHEN to put music.
  • Scenery: in Peter Pan it was just a telon painted but very COLORFUL. however, will that is a convention that we will follow?. I think it should be a real scnery and maybe not that "complex" in the sence of metaphoric or so, but still be a real/solid scnery.
  • Effects: ok so the special effects to make them fly were awesome for a childrens play, but if we make it that way will they understand? or will they think that they were holding on to a rope. THIS IS THE TROUBLE WITH CINE, it shows what they want to show and it reduces the imagination of the audience, however...I really don't think this might be a problem (I'm trusting on the audience!!).

Abusadora - Wisin & Yandel

Thursday 24th

Today in class we read a script of the play we went to watch at 8 pm. I imagined it with my own touch and like this: in a garden made of leafs full of it but in BLACK, and GREYS. the characters of Monica I personally pictured it as an emo girl and like with a mixture of tarzan, (hair n face and stuff) also, the girl i pictured her as LULU (from la pequeña lulu) aaaand the boy as the principito.

BUT

we went to watch the play "en el jardin de monica" to miraflores (where i went to watch HSIII remember? well my family goes to that theatre to watch plays for children) and it was the opposite as i pictured it. and It was a clear example of HOW NO TO DO A PLAY, why? because:
costumes: they were so NOT appropiate, the girl flashed me 3 tmes (yes i counted them) and it was an stereotype of a girl (but wth a P*ta style). The boy had a costume that i boy now a days could use, it was normal. AND MONICA?! well nothing to say, she looked lke a nanny ora nurse, she was SO not good.
Characterizaton: rehearse people! at least once before presenting it! Let's keep that n mind. Now, I realized that the actors chose to do the performance more of a graphic and "designing" the characters, however they didn't accomplished it ...not even close to bad. When the play strated rodrigo told me "she acts like.." and I have to agree, she does. The same exact way as the other person, breathing, face...everything. So no good. Now the other thing, LEARN THE LNES! please, i read it once before the play and i could tell all the mistakes, and the ones who didn't read it as well, so then ...THAT's NOT GOOD. so, so far we've got: lines, rehearse and at least try to act! or pretend that you can...
Scenery:well, that was the aspect that was OK, not good but OK. it was not as I imagned as i said with blacks and grey..not brown and bottles. And, a box wth a sort of "TREE" ...personally i would have used a BIG somehow "real" tree, not a ...really thin one.I didn't lke the bottles think, i thought that was not ...not. And the wall?! I liked the wall (on the script!) i want my wall.
Lghting:well, i really lked the lght that was strong from the center, but not the other at the back. I thnk that the idea was good but not well used. THe intese light gave a dramatic light, but the others blew the effect away.
Music: NO MUSIC!! please stop it...wtf! it was not a children play not a funny one, so why that type of music. THey also used live music, uhm ok..........we'll see if we used it for next time.

so, I think that that overall the play sucked, really sucked PLUS! i don't like reading the script before watching the play, it persoanlly ruins it. I really don't like it because i imagine things as me, not as what the director of the play thought. meeeh, I ratther don't read it...or read it afterwards..or atleast express all the ideas we had first in a breif summery and then watch the play, uuuhm..i don't know, maybe i have a very "cinematographic" mind. Is this good? will this affect the way of percieving a play? and how this helps for production!?!?!?!

answers:What i mean a a cinematographic is that, i PICTURE the imagine i want to do as a movie and like photos inside my mnd. Like extract of the MOVIE i'm "reading". I think that well, a cinematographic can be a plus. first you can tell when i'm thinking as cine when pongo ojos chinitos...why? becuase i imagine the thing, i picture it in my mind as a creator and then a audience. and then like really quickly ask: will i like it, will they like, can we make it, how wll it look made, and colors ...and so i think that helps me a lot wiht the scenery, and so i have ot be able to portray the idea i have in my mind in a paper (and i can do it) but for example, i don't like to watch another proposal than mine ...i don't. say it, but still don't show it to me, why? because i need to imagine it!! it has to be like that..that's how i work. what i mean is like propose an idea (a drawing and stuff) but not make it. And I think that (above all factors of the play) that is why i didn't like the play, because it doesn't full fill my imagination.

Kingdom Hearts Theme - KH

well people, we've returned from Gamarra. YES, we survived... however not with too much success. First of all, a representative from Scenery, the two costume-rs and our director went, so we really couldnt make that much of an advance.....so, we didn't know for sure if we had a budget for costumes so our main goal was scenery with claudia. ok, we asked all over the place, my mom and the Junior Achievement people and they all told us that the best place was..."LAS MALVINAS", we went and it was closed....yup, (however we know it is on Cuadra 6). so next, we walked gamarra 3 times looking for something that we might use....for example we asked for vest or pullovers..and they were 20 soles each, however we found one gallery that could give us the vest for 18 soles (felipe's got the card) and we also asked for gloves (mitones) but ...Felipe had a very good idea, why don't we use "football" gloves, that will make it more of a newton ish, our world more than a paucartambo, however, we couldn't find it. Then, we went to a place where they sell wigs, for 20 soles each. and that was as far as we could do for today!.

Successes of the day:
1) Diego bought 2 great t-shirts.
2)Sandri bought 2 earings.
3) we bought black socks!
4) we've got the special places to go one day and do it fast.
5) we found a GAMARRA version of paucartambo, yes....it follows us!!! we couldn't asked them where they got their costumes, but we saw how they were..more or less imitating the idea of paucartambo, and felipe said "I've seen this the real version, this can't be better". and it kept me thinking, will people think the same of us??? why can we make to make it more interesting!?!?! ...sucks huh?.

So we have a problem, NO BUDGET. and as we talked in the taxi, we kept on thinking what to do.....and we concluded in the following:
a) NOT TO PAY FOR SCENERY because we think costumes is more important.
or
b) buy fabric that can pass as scnery and make our own vests. Just make the outline and cut them and make them
How to solve this problem!?!?! budget...I was forgetting about that little detail. To make a play we need to have a budget, and if the budget doesn't cover all then..what to do?! this is a problem i've never thought of, how does pro solve this?...and how are we going to solve this!??!?! problems..problems.

Bojangles - Pitbull

Sunday 20th

****RANDOM PLATYPUS*****

the random playtpus of the day, Naomi Mabita is getting a cameleon today...yup and aslo! sandri is a very PRO playing ICE AGE.

****RANDOM PLATYPUS****

so this is the deal, we've started a new ....."chaos time", The Paucartambo Play. We've decided to make it a newton ish and paucartambo ish play, SO.... it is going to be the origins of detention. And we are going to perform it in 3 days. so finally, i'm not encharged of the scenery...fiuf. The thingies are as follows:
Sandra: director
Melissa & Valentina: props
Diego & Felipe: Costumes
Rodrigo: Music
Sebastian & Claudia: scenery...(JA! SUCKERS)
so anyway, the thing is that we've planed .. very cool costume sketches, however our teacher just told us that our poor low budget school don't want to spend to much on the play, THUS..no money for costumes. TODAY, we are going to go to gamarra to find some fabric to see what we cand do with that for scenery (roofs and stuff) however, i don't really get the point on going and looking for fabric to make costumes if we CAN'T. anyway, i'm wating for my IB fieles to come and see what happens.

Doing costumes now its really creepy, i really think i'm more artisctic when it comes to STAGES than CLOTHES. for example watching sebastian and claudia struggling with their ideas vs. our teacher's ideas is funny because is like watching myself. when LVeS was consuming my life...and so i try to help them the most i can, giving ideas, telling them "maybe we should.." bla bla bla" ...i know how stressing is to build a scnery, been there...know that. However, COSTUMES...well costumes is more of a...ok, this is my sketch...and the other person has to make it happen (Cajas..that is). and that is not the way i work, i'm more of a DOer than a TELLHIMTODOITer...becuase if you make a mistake then it's you fault, and your fault only and its like well "my idea was not that good" however, the costumes is more of a CAJAS thing really. I don't like it....give me back my scenery please!!..I wonder why do I this is happening! ironic huh? ...but well, i''m missing my stage, HOW COME!?!?!?! will i find more differences bewteen costumes and scenery!?!?! how are we going to solve the budget problems!?!? H.E.L.P.

Under the Sea - The Little Mermaid

Masks by debora correa

this yuyachkani actress came and talked to us about masks.
her objective was to teach us "como entrenar cuerpo a traves de las mascara
She started by warming up as we do. WHAT! so rupert does make us warm up as real actors? I thought we only did that...and that that was only ruperts way of doing it.
The thing that she told us was that your column help us with the AGE, WEIGHT and VOLUME of your character. Rupert never really told us that...but that was obvios wasn't it? i never really though about it. She kept repeating DISEÑO, and i figured out that DISEÑAR was giving little details to you character using hands and parts of your body, and the other word was PRESENCIA and she told us that a PRESNECIA was = energia diferente a la cotidiana, and you achived that with a mask.

To work with a mask, you need to analize it first and ask question: WHo is this!? WHY!? WHEN, HOW WHAT and so on, understand it...and treat is with respect. She also said that for her characters she compare them to animals (done...we do that too) and also she relates it to the activities she did. For example, she showed us "THe CAPORAL" a character from la Diablada Puneña. and she first, learned the dance of it and also she related it to martial arts. (breathing and rythm...) Interesting, i never though of this..relating it to activities...So, the activities that i'm good at and that i do the most are SWIMMING and MARTIAL ARTS (we had something in common)...and by this a realised that can i use next time. WHen we do super heroes....and even paucartambo. Martial arts makes you develop sincronisation and that might help to do the dances. ALSO martial arts pudo haber sido a biggg help for the one act play to keep a rythm and not to lose it..making it sort of a rutine as well as for my character of Astolfo...!! what a stupid...but now i know..uhm..

Now, the thinkg that i asked her was...that how does maks affects your character if you first build it up and then choose a mask. She said it really was the other way, yo usually get the maks first and then develop a character. Also! i asked her about facee expresion! how do you manage to express your feeling to the audience with a mask if you ahve already an establish face expresion ...she answerd me with actions...move arms use your traingle (neck, shodlesr and arms) and with that you can make also good expresion. Finally i notice that it is a rule that when you have a full mask you don't SPEAK!! (that is fay in paucartambo the only one that speaks really are the Qollas...

Anyway, what is interesting and keeps bouncing in my brain is what she called teh feline look! i'm trying it everywere...and i want to manage to do it well!! i think it is really helpfull. And my question is: will it be better for character building to use a mask and start from it and the when you've got the character take it of?! or will that make another different character!? uuuuuhmmm..

I gotta feeling! - BEP

One Act play big night!

Tonight is the night, w'ill live it up!!!

It was our big night today, and we were supposed to be ready at 1.30 to go to San Silvestre...however felipe and Claudia were not there, BUT becuase we are good patas......we lefts without them. (yup, i know...to actors less) So we arriv
ed at Santil and we began to get ready!. our scenery end up great, we tought it would not fit on quit good because it was a little bit to big, but in the end it was great. All the details of last minute made a decent scenery and i think the audience liked it. Anyway, Rupert asked us if we could go over some scenes so me and sebas ...we were his victims. Although this helped a lot because he reminded us about all the actions we had to do and we didn't do it....Finally Felipe and Claudia arrived (fiuf) and the team was complete. Now the actual thin really was about to start...Actually i was not nervous at all, and really i was confident..well i thought i was. I was ready of the last rehersale, we went over the play 2 times that makes a total of 6 times) and with that i notice and learned to hear my ib fieles. Not necesarily listen to them and LOOK at them but, just to listen and have all my sences ready for action according to the others.. this i notices when sebas had to say "hey flash" and he had to do it when sandra was right in front of claudia...and he really couldnt see her. I was...and at he did said when she was there...HOWCOME!? was it the MANY times we did it?! or was he used to lsiten to sandris foot steps!? or...he counted!? any way it was....he managed to do it..and it was pretty amazing.

Another thing I discover in this one act play, VOICE and MUTE is very different...we all agreed that doing you scene with voice was better thatn without it. In mute, we did it 100 times faster ....and sometimes we didn't pay attention to what we were doing....I, for example, felt that whenever i was acting as MUTE, i'll become diego inmediatly...i lost posture, attitude...nothing, it was ME sitting there..i was completely disconected!!! this might be because i was paying more attention to the other stands than to my actions ...but..uhm..

Until now, I was confident...however ruperts comment bleeeeew it all. "NO TE ENTIEEENDO NI UNA SOLA PALABRA"..."DIEGO" esto, "DIEGO" lo otro, "DIEGO" "DIEGO" "DIEGO"...and then i exploted...i didn't want to be around anybody, i went to my stand...will the audince be able to understaaaand me!? (roberto was right, i was not as good as i started)... i was thinking about all of that stuff, then came sebas and said: "dieguis!? que ahces aca! oe vamos!! no te preocupes"...and well, yup we were ready to kick some ass off right!?

THE PLAY: during the play...well they laughed the most at my stand and at felipes, however
...i was almost sure that they wouldn't laugh at me or sebas...maybe it was because we went through our scene so many times that the jokes were not funny, HOWEVER it was the total opposit!!! out scene was great! everybody loved it...and well... I realised that by that, i was relaxed...everybode else was sweatin but me..and that kept me thinking: why!?..why was I so confindet!?. I think it was because my personal goal was accomplished. LAUGH. I think that when you can make someone at least smile..you can die in peace.

In my case, i think the audience made me confident, however it was the first time we presented the play in front of the audience!!! that influenceed aa lot. Well, it is true that we did our scenes 200 times faster thaaan when we rehearsed but they didn't notice, only us and rupert...but the audience did was a major factor. I liked it, but i think rupert didnt. i guess it was 99% of our true potential...was it?. I felt that the one act play came out wwwaaaay better than lVeS. why is this!?, could it be the number of actors? time (was not, we had lest time), audience?, type of play?... anyway, i enjoyed it..and as i said to sebas: THE OSCARS GOES TO: CAPTAIN AND FLASH. jiji ...and you know it.

Hotel Room - Pitbull

One Act Play V
Recently ..on One Act play, (i've always wanted to say that)

The scenery its ok, it is not WOW but it is not ugly...It must
be simple I guess. Rodrigo chose the colors, for me and sebas = grey, felipe= nogalina and for claudia = light blue. We are thinking of filling that with poster and ...repisas and stuff.!! I sware i'm so not doing scenery never ever of the nevers. Rupert's expectations of my skills as architect are waaaaaay to high for reality, but for some reason he chose me and rodrigo...let's see how it ends up. The last time, scenery for lVeS turned out really great and it was 10 times bigger than It's all business one!! wtf!? whats going on! howcome i don't feel like the one act play is going to turned out good!!! (about scenery that is) The other one, had a spinning tower of 3m height and ...like 2 story castle aaaand all of those emo stuff...and this is just 3 stands!! how ironic is that!...Let's see how it ends up, miracles happen you know?!

Flash news from the random platy!: a new member of the IB fieles...it is MELI!!! she is going to be another stupid person that chose drama HIGHER lever..jiji (i'm changin though...i can't stand it anymore).

Another thing that i learned during the 10000000 rehearsal of this play was, fisrt I HATE REPEATING PHRASES OVER AND OVER AGAIN and im starting to hate "WAIT STOP"...i am. and second our work as a group has become crucial for this play and that our bond as IB fieles has grew stronger. This saturday, sandri was struggling with ehr Black accent and we all helped her with movements, voices, words and each one of us gave helped her create a very fun set of actions.
But, this kept me thinking, does this helps!? because...how much of that came from sandra!? Does the character becomes unpersonal when this happens!? does suggestion of people influence on the OWNING of your character!? will the audience notice that!? is it possible to create you character as well as listening to the others ideas!?...and my final question: HOW MUCH A DIRECTORS IDEAS INFLUENCES UPON CHARACTER BUILDING OF AN ACTOR AT A PERSONAL LEVEL?? because no always they have the same idea....uhmm..

Bata Bata - Latin Fresh

One Act play IV

* este es el BLOG vale *
Today we helped valentina with her character Sammy because she doesn't gets it. However as a personal opinion i admire vale as an actress and i also thought she could manage to perform and control any role she would want, vale reminds me a lot of Jennifer Aniston....and watching her struggle and be frustrated about this character was a low blow. In order to help her, we all turned into childern and it reminded me of the tiny toons or The Flinstone kids, and it was really obvios that out of the 7 Sandri was the only one who really managed to be a child. I personally decided to help vale more than the others by asking her to tell me stories and if i didn't like the question i asked her again and again. At the end, vale was ...not able to managed it today! However I'm sure she will do it soon!

So then why did Sandri managed to do it fasted than anybody else? is it stereotype characters that valetina always chose (old people or mature) that made her struggle with a child? was it sandra's personality? was it RoCHE? It makes me think of how come i was able to create FLASH very fast in a comparison to the rest of the IB fieles? And i'm still thinking of how to make Flash more interesting!! I brought a light saber to help him...let's see how he goes.

Question of the day: What is that stops you as an actor to achieve a character!? Is it fear of failure?! Roche? skills? is it your personality? maybe...the audience? your mind? or are you not able to perform as one type of character never in your life!?...uhmm..

Shots - lmfao

One Act Play III

Today we begun with an exercise that i like very much. As usual, we begun balancing the space however this time we had to move as a whole group, or maybe follow one leader and following his way of moving through out the space. Whenever we do this exercise, i ALWAYS picture myself as the avatar controling the moolescules around him (me) with every part of my body. Then we proceeded to play with the state of matter of our bodies, we were SAND, ICE, WATER, AIR, FIRE, WATER, ICE and SAND again. With this we learned about the density and the weight of each element as well as how it moves? does it flor? ....Finally, we played with ANIMALS. We had to chose and animal that ressembled our character. Thinking of Flash I always think of a rat, maybe that's becasue i think of Wormtail...HOWEVER, inmediatly i arched my column and made a posture ofa hunch back...and this also entered into the concept of nerd, and so, i decided to play with a Gorilla. This helped me also, because i pictured flash as a very angry character and so the breathing of the gorilla helped me with that, I remember that in Tarzan whenever the gorillas got mad, their noses grew big big big and sort of smoke came shooting out of their nostrils!! Then little by little we had to turn into a person, and finally i could see how flash moved and his posture.

With this exercise i realized that i used the upper parts of my legs (muslos) to move like a gorilla and that i have very strong ones too, however, it made me realise that humans don't normaly use those in such a way....PLUS, i noticed that whenver rupert asks for a "posture" my first reaction is always, BEND KNEES, ARCH BACK, ELBOWS BENT, FACE UP, ANGRY FACE and mouth close...ALWAYS, and it remind of wolverine...ready to attack. The question for today came when roberto told me: you managed to act as flash, but maybe you will fall from the level you are...WHAT?! will it be possible not to do as well as i was doing it now!? howcome!?

Loba - Shakira

One Act play II

Remember last post? "who will be doing scenery"? well...I AM..what are the odds, it sucks, I really don't know how to do it. I have a vague idea how is it going to end up but all the details? Ironically this is beeing harded than scenery of lVeS becuase: the stage is smaller, the scenery has to be able to be built in 10 minutes (and also removed in 10 min) plus! the decitions are beeing taken by me and Ro
drigo!. Maybe he might push me to the limits, let's see how it ends up like.

Now, Flash. I was thinking lately about my character DORKY NERD...and so i related (as i always do, to Disney or Cartoon characters) and i found out all this characters that can be an influence to create Flash:
-Ratman (dexter's lab)

-Mole (atlantis)
-Wormtail (harry potter)
-Sam (rocket power)
-Woody (Zack n' Cody on deck)
-DUFENSHWK DCB (phineas and ferb) HE IS MY BEST OPTION SO FAR.
-Calamardo (Sponge Bob) / when mad

-Mojo Jojo (PPG) (for the laugh)

Still I don't wan't to copy the characters, ...I'm
still confuse!! the voice has to be more nasal i figured it out and i've been practicing a lot.. posture? not yet..actions!! props!! meeen. If i base my character on cartoons will that make my character a cartoon to!? and would that be ok and be accepted in the play or will it be seen wrong or out of place!?!?!?

If you Seek Amy - BS.

One Act play

So the one act play is about to star, stress all over again. For this year, Rupert decided to make us write our own script. We finished writing it and it is based on a famous market center in our contry, Polvos Azules. Each one of us is creating it's own character and so until now we have:
Diego - Flash - Dorky nerdie
Sebas- Captain - (maybe ultra perve)
Vale - sam - boy ish girl
Sandra- Sunshine - hippie
Claudia- Mrs. Middleton - British worklady
Felipe- Totsy - Bi polar
Rodrigo - Kawabata - Asian porn addict
We decided to act the play 3 times, each on a different setting and you only get to hear each scene pere time. My concerns about this play are:
1) Who will be encharge of scenery because I WON'T.
2) Are we going to be able to make people laugh and still make them take us seriously as actors?
3)How in the world are we going to manage to rehearse all the play in 2 weeks (me huele a que otra ves estamos short of time)
4)FLASH! about my character: voice? Breathing? posture? Is is going to be like Astolfo (lVeS) same techniques to find my character!? how am i going to end up like flash?!?!?!?!?

Shooting Star - LMFAO

Chapter 2: The Parade & and Fire at night!

Wednesday 15th

We woke up and went to the plaza to buy some masks for our play based on paucartambo. Sandri, Rodrigo and I, we went to buy out breakfast and we bought this yogurt that apparently was ok but really it was like CHEESE! Horrible man, anyway, The big deal begun today with the Entrada. This is the first parade of the festival where all the comparzas approach the church were the virgin is and present themselves to her. However, for this we had to seat on the streets in order to separate our seats. There I found my BPF (best paucartambo friend) Nayeli and I thought her how to draw. The first dance groups that open the festival are always the Maqtas. They don’t have a dance but their job is to open up the space for the other comparzas to dance. They use a whip and Andean clothes. They are one of the few comparsas that can touch and socialize with the audience. After the Maqtas the other comparsas dance in any order and they come with the demanda and the cargo of the comparsas. It was amazing that every comparsa has a different demanda, each costumized according to the danza or to the costume of it. This day was also the day where the famous phrase of CHUNCHOS SU MADRE! Was created, why ? because our dear Sandra is afraid of horse and, today the Chunchos enter to the entrada in horse (as well as the majeños). The "Maq'tas" and the "Q'ollas" are the two dances that whip each other as a punishment or baptism ritual, this is called the "Yawar Unu".

Chapter 1: Turbulence at the Airport and the Long Climb to Paucartambo

Tuesday 14 th

6 am and I was already awake. Log on into msn and found vale online: ready for the TRIP!? Bring it on. Let’s make this part as a summary alright? We arrived late to the airport (well Rodrigo and YOU-KNOW-WHO did) and so we lost the plane. Rupert managed to buy some tickets and recover other ones and so finally we were in the plane heading towards Cusco, after 5 hours of “studying at the airport”. When we arrived to Cusco we met Martin, our guide for this trip, and we jumped into a van that took us to Paucartambo….the climb?! It was never-ending; we stopped for the daily PICHI-WALKING, and next stop….. Paucartambo.

We arrived to our 2 stars Hostal (primitiva’s) and we decided our rooms, well actually we all slept in one room (YEAH the five of us), there was the room especially for Vale’s and Sandra’s clothes, another one for Patty and Luciana and another one for Rupert. After that we went out to eat something decent. Paucartambo is not really a BIG town, so getting to the plaza only took us 5 seconds. Around the plaza is where the Guerrilla takes plaza. We then went to the Cathedral or Main Church and there felipe and the others ate their Anticuchito. We found a street that we named the DIAGON ALLEY, where we were expecting to find food but instead we found the Saqra’s house. In here vale and I we talked to the China Saqra (Milagros) and she told us a little bit about them and she even thought us how to dance like them. The saqras are the demons of the festival, however they still have a Demanda (a small box with a virgin inside). The saqras hide from the virgin. Milagros told us that for her to be The China she had to be daughter of Paucartambina, single and without sons/daughters. She presented herself to be the China for 26 years and she is dancing as such for another 6. The Caporal of the Saqras is dancing for 49 years. We also managed to see the Qollas, the Panaderos, the Waka Wakas practice their dances, and they were all different, however, we saw the even when they practice they are drunk.

We finally went to eat the PIZZAS SAKRA (yeah, not saqra…but Sakra) were we ate pizza for only 6 soles. (right next to the church just in case for you curious reader they have any kind of pizza, you name it, they make it). After that with no further partying we returned to our Hostal and rest. The real adventure started the next day.

FLASHFORWARD TO THE FUTURE!!!!!!

Friday 26th June!

today I was walking alone and suddenly the BACK TO THE FUTURE car appeared and so i took a ride to the future....to the day that we are planning to see "RESPIRA". But since this is a blog, I'm going to write in past tense ok?

So, We went in a crazy bus full of crazy people (but lacking a fish) to see a play called Respira de Eduardo Adrianzén, and once again i HATED the play. The only thing I said WOW AMAZING was the lighting. The effect of the light blue light upon the actors in order to creat the idea of Water was great and the other thing that i liked was the character of Jesus. He was comic enough and it gived a twist to the play.

The reason why I hated the play was becuase at some point i said, they just look people saying a random text. They were not acting, not even trying. Whenever they faught the other person over reacted, however this helped me a lot becuase I think I tend to do that, like roll my eyes, or do some things we do becuase we really don't know what to do. That happened to me in the play, I did the same thing and in my head i thought: was doing that convincing enough!? or am i being so medieval and LOOKING angry just to let people tell that i'm angry.....??? the answer...NO, it looks completely fake and it makes the audience lose conection with what the play.
The other thing i didn't like and still wont like until i'm proven wrong "THE STUPID PROJECTOR!!! why on earth do people like to ruin plays by adding the stupid projections onn walls, and videos and stuff!! that doesn't happen!!! that only shows you were not able to think another way to portray your idea and that's why you use technology! NO PEOPLE!! that kills the play instead!. And in the case of this play, I think that was a scenery problem. So, uhm to my question before!!! well...I think sometimes people tend to think wrong ideas about scenery, if it was complete or not! but is something is not right then IT WILL BE SEEN, trust me.

Ok so, the acting sucked, scenery REKETE sucked...the spinning thing...uhm was it really needed?!ah! the story of the dad..and mom!? wtF* ...what was that got to do with all the story!? I think it took importance from teh main plot...and really that was the part of the play that became boring! I wanted to know more about the son, not the sex life of his parents. The other thing i noticed and said "ROBERTO TOLD ME NOT TO DO" was that the actors tend to speak and give the back to the audience....A LOT......then I think what was not good was the direction, the actors just stood there doing literally nothing more than talk! talkt! and TALK! make some actions people! move! use your body!!! express yourselves!!!! (muevete san borja! muevete!!! corre Lola Corre!!!

In conclusion! another play that sucked!!! but this plays help you a lot in the sence of WHAT NOT TO DO. So I find out that, overacting....not good, and not acting...NOT GOOD AT ALL. at least move, don't stay there and speak! if that happens it will only be vomiting the text, so don't. But the problem that keeps poping into my head ...whay will you do if the only thing that's on stage is you and chair? I know the answer I guess.....but I want to see more examples of this situation in order to be able to fully answer.

BACK TO THE PRESENT m' boys!!!!
